love o love

We all know we are in the lovers' month.....yep Feb is Valentines month, its funny how love can make us do crazy things(uhmmmm...what crazy thing have i done this month). I am one of those few people that believe so much in LOVE, see i know that LOVE is everything and everything is in LOVE, i do not apologise for feeling this way, so if you have being hurt before and you think LOVE has hurt you, you need to think again, that boy/girl/man/woman hurt you, not LOVE.

I guess you can call me a LOVE warrior.....

So the question is what im i on about? well, i heard something today on the radio that made me laugh so hard, now this is real, i am not trying to make this up, it was reported in the newspaper and i heard it on the famous LBC 97.3fm (Londons' biggest chat), if you don't know about LBC, get with it, see it's not all about choice fm and kiss fm(for those in the uk), sometimes, one needs to stimulate the brain, hear about issues affecting us as a nation, even if it is london's biggest chat.

So to the story....
A robbery went to rob the local post office(i dont remember the name of the place now but it's somewhere in the uk), during the robbery, he was smitten by the check-out girl he was robbing. He returned to the scene of the crime the next day with flowers and chocolate for the girl, while confessing his love for her, he also confessed he robbed the store the day before, the police were called and he was arrested.

So what crazy thing have i done because of love?

Arsene Wenger's Letter

Dear Soulstar,

Like everyone else at Arsenal I hope Eduardo makes a full recovery from the terrible injury he suffered at Birmingham on Saturday. His injury was the result of a very bad tackle and the first diagnosis we had after the game was very, very bad. I would not like to go into medical details because I am not qualified enough but the first news was very bad and obviously he was quickly taken to hospital. Will the injury end Eduardo's career? I don't know. I would not go as far as saying that but it does not look good.

It was a highly emotional afternoon and we were all shocked by the injury to Eduardo. On reflection though, I feel that my comments about Martin Taylor were excessive. I said what I did immediately after the game, in the heat of the moment. As for the game itself, Eduardo's injury affected our football 100 per cent. You could see that straight away - it had a big effect. At half time we talked about playing the game we wanted to play and I felt we did that quite well. It was very disappointing that we didn't kill off the game.

I don't believe the free-kick for Birmingham's first goal should have been given and I thought Gael Clichy's tackle was fair and did not warrant a penalty. Five minutes before that stoppage-time equaliser there was a 100 per cent penalty after Adebayor was fouled. But we have to take it, we cannot change it and we have to look at ourselves as well. We have to fight against all that. Frankly we should have killed the game off earlier and scored the third because you can get caught out by any little mistake. Thanks for your support.

Eduardo da Silva

I am very angry today,

Arsenal striker Eduardo da Silva suffered an horrific broken leg in the opening minutes of the Premier League clash with Birmingham.
The Croatia international was challenged by Birmingham's Martin Taylor in the third minute of the game at St Andrews with the centre-back being shown an immediate red card by referee Mike Dean.
Eduardo's clearly distressed team-mates immediately signalled to the sidelines that urgent attention was required and the game was held up for seven minutes as he received treatment on the field.
The injury was deemed to be so serious that replays of the incident were not shown on television.

Eduardo is now facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines and is certain to miss the remainder of this campaign and Croatia's Euro 2008 challenge in the summer.
After being stretchered off the field, he was immediately taken to hospital for further treatment.

I am the darker brother,
They send me to eat in the kitchen when company comes,
But i laugh,
I eat well and i grow strong

Tomorrow i will sit at the table when company comes,
Nobody will dare say to me eat in the kitchen then,
Besides they will see how beautiful i am,
And be ashamed,

I too im a man

Charity Begins At Home

Charities like Live Aid raised a lot of awareness about the poverty in Africa; they staged a global concert in which so many celebrity artists were invited to perform. They promised to give the money raised to Africa. They televised the amount of success they have had with their charity.

All these I am very grateful for. The human in me is very thankful for any sort of help rendered to people in need, however, if they continue to give and give again, we become dependent upon their help. We as Africans can never be independent in our minds and in our economy if all we do is receive and receive.

Africa is blessed with everything; Oil, Diamonds, Intelligence, Exotic animals, wonderful weather and even the most beautiful women to name a few. 25,000 years ago, we were solving mathematical problems; we built house and pyramids with this knowledge.

The Nigerian city of Ile-Ife was paved in 1000 AD on the instructions of the ruler with decorations that originated in Ancient America. Naturally, no-one wants to explain how this took place approximately 500 years before the time of Christopher Columbus. According to scholars, the Yoruba people built numerous walled cities surrounded by farms”. The cities were Owu, Oyo, Ijebu, Ijesa, Ketu, Popo, Egba, Sabe, Dassa, Egbado, Igbomina, the sixteen Ekiti principalities, Owo and Ondo. This shows the enormous wealth and intelligence of Africans

The Nigerian city of Benin was built to a scale comparable with the Great Wall of China. There was a vast system of defensive walling totaling 10,000 miles in all. Guinness Book of Records carried an entry in the 1974 edition that described the city as: “The largest earthworks in the world carried out prior to the mechanical era.”

Autopsies and caesarean operations were routinely and effectively carried out by surgeons in pre-colonial Uganda. The surgeons routinely used antiseptics, anesthetics and cattery iron. One author wrote in the Edinburgh Medical Journal in 1884: “The whole conduct of the operation . . . suggests a skilled long-practiced surgical team at work conducting a well-tried and familiar operation with smooth efficiency.”

It bugs me to know that we have all these resources and we still need help from the outside world. We should be the ones giving out and not always receiving charity, however, we have being made to be inferior, our resources have being stolen from us and our peoples’ minds have being brain washed with the glamorisation of western ideas and ways.

Africa suffers today economically because Africa was robbed and manipulated. A thief who goes into a bank to steal with guns is the same as the thief who manipulates and cons people out of their money and resources. A thief is a thief, regardless of how the theft was carried out.

Africa suffers health wise because if the economy is affected, every other thing follows. The pharmaceutical industry is concerned about making profits alone, so therapeutic drugs are not well distributed in Africa. The average pay in Africa is not enough to buy malaria tablets. This then leads to poor welfare.

I am tired of Charities(I am not against charity in any way) to Africa, though I understand they mean well, I would rather the American and European government return our resources to us, so we don’t have to always depend on what is handed down to us. We have the intelligence to make it happen, we built America and Europe, I believe we can build Africa too; all we need now is the right mentality.

Through History, determination has always paid of.....

Been a while since i heard good music come out of Nigeria/Nigerian Blood,
don't get me wrong i like Psquare (especially that new song, no one be like you), Dbanj ever shouts and never sings, and Tuface is cool but seriously when are we going to get real musicians come out of Nigeria again, i am talking about the likes of Fela, King Sunny Ade and co............if you were born in the eighties or before you will understand what i am saying.

See i grew up listening to Music from these folks, i remember my Dad's turntable (it aint even cds) playing every a.m, i woke up to the sounds of Marvin Gaye, Miles Davis, Sam Cook, Fela Kuti, KSA , Obey and so on. That is music, not that noisy YAHOOZZEE......did i hear you say "he didn't just diss Olu Maintain", this is no 'diss', it's just that when i have my kids, i want to be able to introduce them to good music from the motherland and i seriously wouldn't want them shouting YAHOO YAHOOZZEE

However, hope is not lost and i still have faith in that part of motherland(Nigeria), i was introduced to the music of a lady called ASA pronouced ASHA, i was like well, let me listen whilst thinking i hope this isn't going to be another rapper wannabe.....so i listened and i am still listening and i will listen tomorrow in my car, and when i get back home i will listen again and again

This woman is soooo good, i am so proud she is from Nigeria, she has that Tracy Chapman, India Arie meets Amy Winehouse kinda vibe (If you know about music, you will understand what i am saying), i especially like the yoruba titled songs, so if you have a minute, why don't you treat yourself to some good music(the kinda music i will be passing on to lil eniola).

Never GIVE UP, keep your HEAD UP

Dear Soulstar

Positive points are difficult to find from Saturday's FA Cup defeat against Manchester United because overall we were not up to the level of our normal game. We know that and the players know that as well. In fact, the only positive I can think of is that we do not have any new injuries. The talking points at Old Trafford included Emmanuel Eboue's sending off which looked a bit harsh from my position. The game was over after the red card and maybe even before that because we never looked like we could come back.

Then there was Nani's ball-juggling which I thought was a little bit disrespectful. He had a very good game on Saturday but that was not needed. But it can happen to a young player. I didn't really have serious thoughts about the treble but you try and make a choice as late as you can. Saturday was difficult to swallow for the players because it looked like we did not have the physical resources to come back into the game. At the moment our cup defeats are unbelievable. When we lose in the cup we get a hiding. We don't concede in the League but when we do concede we do it well! Either way we need to recover quickly because we need to be at our best to beat Milan.

As for the rest of the season, the targets in front of us are very clear. They are the Premier League and the Champions League. We are not in a position where we have to make a choice. We just have balanced fixtures now and we need to pick ourselves up quickly because we have a massive game on Wednesday. Of course we are back at Old Trafford in April for the Premier League game and you will see a different Arsenal team then. We will be in a different shape when our injuries clear up and I hope the pitch will be in a different shape as well. Thanks for your support.

thIS MOment

Just like it was innocently sent to me
i love this, its too good i have to share it with the world (well you)

Never felt this way before
Never knew it was actually possible
Swear I’m alive but my blood seems to stop flowing
Frozen by the feelings of my heart
Feelings so strong that scare its own possessor
Frozen every moment I have you in my head

Every moment with you, learning everyday
More and more about what makes you, you
Nothing seems to matter when I’m with you
Your presence takes precedence over everything
Everything that used to matter pales compare
To how I feel about you
My senses tell me it’s wrong to feel this way
It’s way too soon and makes no sense
But my heart is telling me not to stop

For once I’m going to follow my heart
I’m going to live in this mysterious moment
A moment that makes no sense to my mind
Because I rather share this moment with u
And risk whatever it will costThan go back to when I never knew you at all

OGa POLice......what now

See what it is?

Being African in London seems to be a crime now, because i can't even drive without being stopped anymore. I know i am a good driver, passed the test a while now, being driving since about 15, two hands on the steering (when i feel like really), bluetooth always on so i dont have to hold the mobile phone if i need to converse, signal before i make a turn, give way and i always, almost never jump the yellow light.

So there i was, cruising down the A3, doing 40-42miles/hour, enjoying the new Ledisi cd i just made, thinking about how quickly i am going to devour that jollof rice as soon as i get home and what did i see, yes you guessed it, FLASHING LIGHTS.

I checked that i was doing everything right, so i decided to continue driving and ignore, they followed me for a while till i pulled up in my garage. They alighted from the car and walked towards me, by this time, i was ready to break down anything or anyone that wants to stand in the way of me and my jollof rice.

The chubby one with round head came and stood in front on my driver's door, asked me to step out of the car, i looked at him and continued with my jollof rice dream. After a while of saying silly things into that little toy thet carry around, he asked me that stupid question

"Are you legal in this country?"
"No, I have just driven over here from Nigeria"
"Are you trying to be smart with me , sir"
"Exactly sir, i am since this is a big joke"
"Whats your name, sir?"
"Whats yours?"

After a very long dialogue, i realised that i am wasting my own time too so i gave him the correct details he wanted, he checked on his little toy thing and then he said i was clear. Just as i was about to leave, he said,

"Where did you get that car from"

I was so annoyed that the jollof rice wish disappeared, i told him i stole it from his house since that is what he was expecting to hear. A young African brother in a nice car driving around london is something he can't understand

Oga Police, Na wetin i do you
(this is a true story)

On a serious note, why is it that they think we can't be educated and legal, they don't understand that we all don't have to steal to buy nice cars and have nice things but then i can't blame them..........Yahoo YaHoo bois have given them that right.

HAPPy VAls Day

All around the world, people are exchanging flowers, boxes of chocolate, cards, kisses, hugs and you know what tonight. Its Vals day and i want to wish everyone a wonderful Vals day. My present to you today is wishful thinking.

Love affects everyone, you are either falling in love, growing in love, recovering from love, giving love or wanting love. Love controls everything and everyone.
Someone said,"love is too commercialised, you dont need a day to celebrate love"..............what nonsense!!! We might as well forget about celebrating anniversaries, if you are one of those that think love is commercialised, stop being bitter and let love love you, its simple, learn to trust and loving will follow...................its a chain reaction baby

Enjoy tonight and understand that Valentines is about celebrating LOVE and not LUST

WELCOME ME

Im new here, so expect random mind blowing thoughts from me
